AGRICULTURE: Effects on Germination of Seeds
                Dr.
B.G. Bhujbal of Pune M.J.P.Agriculture University has conducted
some experiments on Germination of Grape Seeds and cutting
in Agnihotra atmosphere. His observation is that despite
use of modern technology in the form of use of harmones,
scarification, stratification, etc. for germination of grape
vines, the germination was very low. It was only 20% and
further it takes a very long time, as much as 300 days to
sprout. With this lacuna in mind he selected seeds of popular
varieties for the study. All the seeds and unrooted cuttings
were kept in Agnihotra environment and were also treated
with Agnihotra ash, untreated samples from the same lot
were used as Control.
              He
was startled to observe that the first sprouting took place
after only 21 days of sowing. Thus Agnihotra atmosphere
induced a rapid germination in a short period of 21 days
against Control showing 6 months or more. Root Cuttings
showed 10% rooting in Agnihotra treated cuttings as against
80% rooting in Control. The loss of harvest was nil and
colour was optimal i.e. Golden Yellow with increase in yield
to 24% in Agnihotra treated cuttings as compared to 30%
loss of harvest and yellow green colour in Control group.
He was amazed to find that Agnihotra atmosphere helps in
Raisin making from grapes. The drying of bunches in Agnihotra
atmosphere was complete in 21 days and taste was good in
35 days.
                 Dr.
Ramashraya Mishra, Associate Professor, Genetics, CSA University
of Agriculture, Kanpur, has observed effects of Agnihotra
Ash on Varun variety of Rai Seed. During this study Rai
seeds were treated with cowdung and cow urine and Agnihotra
Ash for 24 hours before sowing and equal quantity was kept
untreated as Control. Dr. Mishra observed that Agnihotra
Ash treated seeds with dusting of ash gave higher yield
by 30%. Similar experimetns in various other fields revealed
definitely positive and encouraging effects of Agnihotra
in Seed Preservation, increasing Crop Yield. Multiplying
Earthworms (which act as natural nutrients for soil), release
of Soluble Phosphates from Soil and such concerned things
with Agriculture.
